    Heidelberg Materials is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for supervising a mechanical maintenance crew to deliver effective maintenance and equipment reliability. This position is based out of Delta, BC.

    What youll get to do:?

    • Promote safe work habits and a safe work environment
    • Assign and coordinate work orders in accordance with the designated planning flow process
    • Assess work priority, develop work scopes, and coordinate maintenance tasks
    • Maintain and improve equipment reliability through effective maintenance and equipment upgrades
    • Gather accurate estimates of repair time, crew size, and costs of repair
    • Investigate equipment failures and trouble-shoot problems
    • Coordinate maintenance activities with Maintenance Planners including parts and materials
    • Ensure employees training is kept current and that maintenance skills are upgraded
    • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, process, and product quality standards
    • Coordinate equipment lockout with production, other trades, and contractors
    • Administer the collective agreement and all company policies and procedures.
    • Respond to emergency situations to ensure continuity of operations on a 24/7 basis

    ?Who we are looking for:?

    • Post-Secondary degree mechanical/structural engineering is preferred
    • Red Seal Millwright required
    • 8+ years experience in a heavy industrial setting, experience in concrete industry is an asset
    • 5+ years experience supervising a unionized workforce.
    • Experience creating, managing and directing maintenance programs
    • Familiar with local and provincial regulations for safety and environment.

    Work Environment:

    • Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
