Lead Delivery Driver
Overview:We are looking for experienced CDL Delivery Drivers to deliver pre-sold products from our Distribution Center to our customers place of business in a safe and timely manner. The Lead Delivery Driver will also train and help new staff.

- Determines condition of vehicle by inspecting vehicle before and after use; logging inspection; reporting requirements.
- Maintains safe vehicle and conditions and protects load by complying with organization policies, procedures, highway rules and
- Distributes spirits, wine, beer, and other beverages by driving delivery truck to specific customers.
- Unloads truck by use of hand truck or dolly.
- Reconciles customers invoice by collecting money, making change, and recording transactions on customer receipt.
- Records sales by completing daily sales and delivery records.
- Provides customer service by listening and resolving customer concerns.
- Merchandises wine retail accounts by placing product on shelves or racks.
- Returns empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise by making appropriate collections from customers.
- Collects product returns by obtaining customers signature on receipt for pick up or delivery.
- Maintains records by completing DOT driver log.
- Maintains appearance of delivery truck by daily cleaning of the inside of the truck.
- Requests routine truck maintenance by completing written maintenance request form
- Performs duties in a safe manner by following established safety rules and regulations.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Train new staff on the Company procedures and when necessary ride with new drivers.
- Assist on heavy routes when your route is complete for the day to ensure the company meets customer deadlines and expectations.
- Other duties, as assigned by the jobholders supervisor, may also be required.
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class B CDL with airbrake endorsements (Class A acceptable)
- Clean MVR record as per our Company Fleet Safety Policy
- Minimum 2 years delivery related experience and/or training
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bi-lingual a plus, but not required
- Thinks outside the box and searches for innovative solutions
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
- Must be able to lift 45-65lbs which is the average weight of a case
- Push and pull this weight on a regular basis and there maybe two/three cases on a two wheeler
Competencies:
- Must have general knowledge of DOT regulations and proven history of safe driving.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to associates.
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Basic understanding of shipping/receiving and inventory control principals.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pays attention to detail and meet deadlines.
