Job Summary and Qualifications
The Manager Surgical / Specialty Services is responsible for supporting supply chain operations within surgical and specialty service areas for HealthTrust Supply Chain Solutions, including but not limited to HCA and other large IDNs as well as consulting engagements. Primary leadership responsibility for Supply Chain support to HCA enterprise-wide Operating Room, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and Electrophysiology programs. The position will also support new areas of growth in specialty services such as Endoscopy, PACU, and Anesthesia. Day-to-day efforts strive to reduce facility supply chain costs, standardize processes, improve operational efficiencies and improve service levels. The position will consider the unique operational variables present throughout the organizations facilities. This position will also support the overall Surgical and Specialty Services priorities as required. The position is responsible for maintaining the organizations policy and procedures and adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.
What you will do in this role:
- Enterprise-wide program manager for the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and performance improvement of the HCA Supply Operating Room (OR), Chain Cath Lab (CL), Interventional Radiology (IR), and Electrophysiology (EP) initiatives.
- Lead the expansion and growth of Supply Chain coverage for HCA OR, CL, IR, and EP.
- Evaluate and establish labor models and staffing plans for Supply Chain support to OR, CL, IR, and EP. Develop hybrid approaches to staffing when traditional organizational alignment does not support operational requirements.
- Establish performance metrics, business case, and return on investment for Supply Chain support to OR, CL, IR, and EP.
- Support leadership and staff throughout as a subject matter expert in the improvement of supply chain operations, adherence to Supply Chain related regulatory compliance, and implementation of Supply Chain projects.
- Partner with IT&S, Clinical Services Group, and third party vendors to evaluate, design, develop, implement, maintain, and improve Supply Chain systems, system automation, and integration to clinical systems.
- Conduct operational assessments to identify gaps in efficiencies and drive change management strategies to align with the defined Supply Chain operating model.
- Act as a consultant resource for HealthTrust customers seeking to enhance operational efficiencies and collaborate with others on client recommendations.
- Serve as resource responsible for managing efforts, developing requirements, constructing/administering training, and ensuring effective communications on departmental affairs.
- Manage the organization wide key operating performance indicators while collaborating with applicable personnel to resolve areas of improvement.
- Individually and jointly responsible for Supply Chain customer satisfaction
- Work closely and on a continual bases with project management resources to ensure facility and division-based projects adhere to define timelines and critical paths.
- Perform various data analytics and summarize findings into meaningful knowledge based on leadership or customer needs.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
- College graduate required
- Masters degree or MBA preferred
- 5+ years experience required in supply chain operations focusing on requisitioning, receiving, inventory management, and distribution of all supplies within healthcare facilities.
- Surgical and specialty services experience preferred.
