    Psychiatric RN

    Day to Day:

    An RN Crisis Nurse will, under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON), provide nursing care to clients as outlined in section 2 of the NC 'Article 9A. Nursing Practice Act' and rules of the NC Board of Nursing.

    - nursing care based on client needs.

    - Assist with the development of plan of care.

    - Observe client behavior and physical status and notify Licensed Clinician, DON and/or Physician of changes in condition.

    - Assist in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment that respects client's rights.

    - Assist clients with activities of daily living, encouraging independent behavior when appropriate.

    - May supervise LPN's during shift.

    - Assist in the performance and/or observation of restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally and/or physical threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.

    - Administer medications as per Physician's orders and observe, record, and report evidence of adverse reactions to medications.

    - Perform all other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and Leadership.



    Must Haves:

    - Bachelors in Nursing

    - RN License in NC

    - Background in psychiatric care or crisis centers, large hospital backgrounds typically dont work out here.

    - One year nursing experience preferred.

    - Must attend 12 hours of Person Centered Thinking training prior to or within 90 days of hire.

    - The candidate must pass the criminal record history clearance and a child abuse clearance and any other required clearances as well as possess a valid driver's license.

    - LSCI, SCM, Ukeru training as appropriate for position.
