Our client, in the Petrochemical industry is seeking a Senior Process Design Specialist to join their team. As a Senior Process design Specialist you will be part of Engineering supporting the plant.

• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances for new and modified processes
  
• Develop project scopes for small and large capital projects
  
• Specify new process equipment
  
• Work with equipment vendors and Operations to aide in selection
  
• Responsible for process manufacturing processes and bringing in state of the art process technologies to improve product quality and lower manufacturing costs
  
• Develop new plant designs for debottlenecking existing sites and greenfield expansions
  
• Work with the Plant Operations teams to provide technical expertise and support for resolving operational issues
  
• Provide technical coverage for plant trials and startups
  
• Write and train chemical operators on operating procedures for new processes and equipment
  
• Interface with R&D with regard to process development and process improvements
  
• Develop safety procedures to be employed by workers operating equipment. Lead or be a member of PPA (potential problem analysis), JSA (job safety analysis) and PHAs (process hazard analysis) teams
  
• Ability to travel up to 15 20% (Port Arthur or San Juan Del Rio)
  
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• BS degree in Chemical Engineering
  
• Plant or engineering environment (Process Engineering, Technical Services, etc.)
