    Telemetry Unit - Registered Nurse

    Experience:

    12 months of role experience is required.

    12 months of Telemetry Unit experience is required.

    18 months of travel experience is required.

    Experience with Epic is preferred.

    Requirements:

    Candidates must have a South Dakota license or compact license in hand at the time of application.

    This role will require floating to multiple units

    Candidates must live at least 100 miles away from this facility in order to be eligible to apply for this role.

    COVID vaccination required for onboarding. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

    Flu vaccination required for onboarding. Declinations not accepted.

    Additional Details:

    Will accept a first-time traveler if RN had greater than 2 years experience.

    Previous permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler.

    Patient Types: Adults with a variety of diagnoses including CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, COPD, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, overdose, and delirium tremors

    Required Education: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

    Skills required: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, Blood product administration, CIWA, drain/tube management, indwelling and straight catheter insertion/management, insulin drips - non-DKA only, continuous bladder irrigation, chest tube maintenance

    • Floating:
    • -Adult Inpatient Units - Med Surg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Heart and Vascular Unit, Oncology, ICU (depending on experience), Observation
    • -Could be floated within scope of practice and below
    • -Will float in rotation with other travelers

    Weekend rotation Every other or 50% weekends per 4-week schedule. Weekends are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

    Travelers are not scheduled On Call hours, but may be placed On Call related to Low Census if hours are over guaranteed weekly hours OR traveler requests to be low censused On Call.

    Holiday Expectations: Every other holiday minimum during contracted timeframe

    Must extend contract if unable to work a full week to accommodate a 13-week contract. No RTO during Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks every August).

    Maximum days off: 7 days
