    Director Quality, Risk and Patient Safety

    An exciting opportunity is now available for a Nurse Director Patient Safety and Risk Management at a Northern California Medical Center

    The Director Quality and Risk will report to the Chief Nursing Officer, and will oversee a team of a Risk Manager, data analysts and a Risk analysts. The Nurse Director Risk Management will develop metrics in quality and patient safety, ensure all policies and procedures are in compliance and acts as an expert resource for all hospital departments.

    The Director Patient Safety and Risk Management will be responsible for organizational improvements and quality measures for the entire facility. The Director Risk Management will be responsible for oversight of the claim management, performance of risk assessments, and management of the patient safety committee.

    The Director Quality and Patient Safety will be part of a large and stable healthcare organization, which is known throughout the region for providing the highest level of care with a commitment to quality and patient safety metrics.

    The Director will provide education to medical staff, hospital staff and the governing body while also participating in the development, monitoring and reporting of performance improvement activities. While maintaining oversight for quality assurance efforts, the Director will act as a resource and mentor to the medical staff, department managers and administrative team.

    The Nurse Director Quality Risk Management will use their clinical communication skills to provide education support to the Nursing Administration, Medical Staff, and the Governing Board. Additionally, expertise in developing and managing quality assurance efforts will be an important skill. These efforts may include clinical quality management programs, Nursing skills competencies, survey readiness audits and employee satisfaction initiatives.

    The Director Risk and Patient Safety will be responsible for collaborating with the leadership team to implement risk reduction strategies. The Director Risk Management will collaborate with the Manager of Performance Improvement to review high severity Occurrence reports.
