Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Certified Lactation Registered Nurse.
In this role, the successful candidate The Certified Lactation Registered Nurse is a member of the health care team who is knowledgeable, skilled and experienced in lactation and breastfeeding management and whose primary focus is the provision of education, assistance and support to breastfeeding women and childrenJob Responsibilities:
- Performs a complete assessment of the breastfeeding mother and infant.
- Analyzes assessment information to identify concerns and/or problems experienced by the mother and infant.
- Implements a plan of care for the breastfeeding mother and infant.
- Considers the needs and behaviors of specific patient age groups and cultures.
- Manages the Breast Pump Discharge Program to assure all mothers have a pump at home upon once discharged.
- Promotes own professional growth and development.
- Serves as a support and resource for the education of other health professionals.
- Educates parents on all aspects of infant feeding and assures all patients have discharge resources to support infant feeding after discharge.
- Assures compliance with standards and regulations promulgated by all applicable agencies.
- In conjunction with nursing leadership assures the Donor Milk program practices are compliant as per regulation
- Participates as a member of the Women and C Services Quality and Performance Improvement Councils.
- Liaison for cross campus meetings with regard to breastfeeding and Baby friendly updates
- In conjunction with nursing leadership supports new initiatives related to breastfeeding
- Applies research findings that support lactating mothers and/or their breastfeeding babies.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Must be a graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
NY State RN License
Current Certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (I.B.L.C.E.).
Lactation Consultant Course.
Minimum of 2 years Certified Lactation RN experience. Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills and creative problem solving ability..
Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYSPreferred Qualifications:
Current Certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners
(I.B.L.C.E.) required
Minimum of 3 years Certified Lactation RN experience preferred
BLS requiredQualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

The salary range for the role is $113,334.00 - $149,334.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
