The Woodlands at Canterfield is currently seeking a Director of Life Enrichment / Activities Director for our facility located in West Dundee, IL. The Director of Life Enrichment is responsible for creating a social atmosphere emphasizing the spirit of Joyful Living by promoting and coordinating events and activities for the residents. The Director of Life Enrichment will direct and oversee the events and activities and ensure that the services offered produce the highest possible level of resident satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilitites:
- Provide residents with the opportunity to exercise the mental, physical and spiritual well-being of their lives as well as provide opportunities for personal growth, cultural enrichment and continuing education.
- Have experience planning and executing sophisticated and stimulating activities
- Must be caring, compassionate, and always provide excellent customer service.
- Manages all Life Enrichment, transportation attendant CNAs and Aides
- Responsible for the daily life enrichment program schedule for all levels of ability seven (7) days a week.
- Prepare monthly activity calendar for distribution to all residents and families.
- Educates, trains and encourages team members on life enrichment opportunities to make meaningful connections.
- Develops and pursues a varied program of meaningful activities and events that is balanced in the physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, vocational and cognitive elements.
- Arranges for community groups to come into the Community, schools, churches, and entertainers.
- Purchases and maintains equipment and supplies in accordance with budgetary guidelines
- Maintain documentation as required by regulatory agency or community policy.
- Completes assessments that matches resident interest and ability.
- Exhibits Joyful Living, service-oriented behaviors and actions to help provide a pleasant and supportive environment for those we serve.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Healthcare Related Field;
- Bachelors Preferred Minimum of two (2) years experience in a social or recreation program
- One year of supervisory experience
- Must have outstanding Critical thinking skills Outstanding customer service skills Excellent associate relation skills
