    Clinical Educator - RN

    Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 700 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.

    Position Overview

    We are currently looking for a Clinical Educator - RNfor our Education Department! This is a fulltime, day position.

    Responsibilities

    The Clinical Educator has the ability to identify educational needs, develop educational in services, provide teaching to individuals and groups, to teach formally and informally, and able to work with interdisciplinary groups on patient/staff issues, performance improvement, risk management, and resource management. He/she acts as a resource for the novice and incumbent hospital employee in patient education, promotes the professional growth of each staff member and participates in committee work and special projects as needed according to identified learning needs. Conducts and analyzes a basic needs assessment annually for employees. Interacts with all facility department directors, medical staff and outside contacts as a representative of the hospital and the Education Department.

    Qualifications

    • Requires a degree in nursing, bachelor's preferred
    • Must have a license to practice professional nursing by the Texas Board of Nursing or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact
    • BLS and ACLS/ALS upon hire
    • AHA Instructor in BLS and ACLS/ALS requiredwithin one year of hire
    • AHA PALS, PALS Instructor, NRP, NRP Instructor and TNCC preferred
    • Prior experience in educator role preferred
    • At least 2 years of recent and relevant teaching experience
    • Recent acute care experience preferred
    • Requires impeccable interpersonal and communications skills, including verbal, written and telephone skills
    • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
    • Must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span
    • Knowledge of the nursing process, the Joint Commission standards, Board of Nursing standards and Texas Nursing Assocaition standards
    • Able to follow through on project completion
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills required
