SALES MANAGER | ACCOUNT MANAGER (F/M/D)
Boston | Full-time employee | AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATEThe strategic core of this function is to generate new sales of our digital portfolio to academic libraries and consortia within the designated territory through customer contact, market analysis and strategic plan development. Reports directly to the Americas Sales Director.
Your tasks
- Strategically drive activity throughout entire sales lifecycle
- Provide individualized representation for applicable De Gruyter and partner content
- Further develop existing and foster new relationships with all territory key accounts and consortia
- Proactively generate a high level of customer contact via face to face meetings, e-mail and phone
- Achieve established sales revenue targets
- Produce sales/business reports according to deadlines
- Manage and document all progress through company CRM
Your profile
- Minimum three to five years of experience in the academic publishing industry, preferably in sales
- In-depth knowledge and strong relationships with consortia and academic libraries
- A motivated, entrepreneurial, results-oriented personality with a track record for success
- A can-do problem-solving attitude
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A demonstrated interpersonal ability in client relations and customer contact
- Experience working closely with marketing and customer service departments on customer relations and product development
- Aptitude for contract language discussions and negotiations
- Ability to travel as needed
