Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking a Program Coordinator for Labor & Delivery who functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team and serves as an advocate and educator for the maternal patients. The Program Coordinators primary function is to ensure the patient, staff and physicians have the informational and educational needs for the treatment plan. The Program Coordinator achieves this goal by building relationships with patients and physicians, education, and/or representation within the multidisciplinary care environment. The Program Coordinator also assumes responsibility and accountability for the management of resources to achieve efficient, high-quality outcomes for patients, including support with interdisciplinary and cross-facility coverage and collaboration. The Program Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the patient and family; all physicians involved in with patients care, internal and external healthcare providers, support network members, and the wider healthcare community. This role will require collaboration with local physician liaisons and leadership to provide formal/informal staff education and to evaluate teaching effectiveness through feedback from staff and multidisciplinary team members. What You Will Do In Your Role:
- Assists leadership in achieving the requirements for Maternal Leveling Designation.
- Works collaboratively and functions as an effective member of the health care team as well as a contact within the Methodist community.
- Collaborate in preparing professional reports, articles and presentations for colleagues and professionals.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of necessary changes in the program based on Q/I project result and is a stake-holder engagement for projects and quality initiatives within the inpatient realm.
- Attends monthly QAPI meetings.
- Responsible for assisting the education team with the integration and roll out of educational programs, including new employee orientation, preceptor support.
- Guides clinical education, simulation and on-boarding for Labor and Delivery RNs and leads real time, on the spot simulations at the bedside.
- May attend educational conferences, rounds, workshops and seminars; seeks out opportunities to share information gained with colleagues.
- Responsible for assisting the education team to support staff and to help roll out maternal education initiatives including establishing roll out timelines, tracking and reporting on completions as well as assisting with auditing for compliance.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelors degree Nursing Program.
- Minimum three (3) years recent professional experience in Labor and Delivery.
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
- Current RN license in the state of Texas or current multi-state RN compact license. Employees with RN compact license status are required to obtain a Texas RN license within 90-days of hire.
