    Trailer Mechanic

    This position is an essential part of Sherwins manufacturing team. This position responsible maintaining the safe operating condition of our Contract Transportation Systems trailer fleet. The Trailer Mechanic must be a self-directed individual and have proven knowledge of air brake and anti-lock systems, general trailer preventative maintenance and trailer body repair.

    • Welding (steel welding, aluminum welding, use of acetylene torch)
    • Wall replacements and repairs
    • Door repairs and replacements
    • Frame and sub frame
    • Electrical (light wiring including interior lights, troubleshoot/repair electrical shorts, lift gate motors)
    • Air system
    • Brake system
    • Tires
    • Lift Gates
    • Dollies
    • Yard truck PMs along with as necessary repair work
    • Trailer Inspections (FHWA)
    • EHS Inspections (As Required)
    • Maintenance of Samara Units
    • Maintenance and Monitoring of Diesel Heaters
    • Tank Wagon inspections and maintenance
    • Tank Wagon Valve rebuilding and replacing.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
    • Must have two (2) years of experience in truck mechanic or similar
    • Must have two (2) years of experience in the following areas: Welding, Electrical, Air Systems and Tires

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Must have at least two (2) years of experience in mechanical and computer aptitude
    • Must have at least two (2) years of experience with lift gates
