As a Human Resources Generalist, you will support local office in employee hiring and onboarding, employee relations and development, investigations support to the discipline/grievance process, personnel records, background screening, group insurance administration and monthly reconciliation, Workers Compensation, unemployment claims, Affirmative Action planning and leave of absence. The Human Resources Generalist is also responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate policies and applicable federal, state and local laws.

    Specific Duties and Essential Functions

    • Coordinate with the District Manager and Scheduling Center on staffing requirements, new hire availability, qualifications, and current/future demand
    • Partner with Recruiter on open positions, ensure development of Job Descriptions to meet the needs of the business
    • Identify staffing trends as well as identify future needs for the local office
    • Monitor and track candidates received, interviewed, and hired against open positions; ensure all onboarding requirements are met to ensure G4S and client contract compliance
    • Administrative management: Administer leaves of absence, FMLA, PTO, etc.; Employee and/or Labor Relations activity, disciplinary actions; Comp Stat participation; Implementing Customer transitions; Workers Comp management; Unemployment claims management, and employee records changes in HRIS; benefits administration
    • Work with G4S Managers to ensure they maximize all opportunities and use all tools available for employee retention and development
    • Ensure compliance with company HR policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws
    • Attend weekly meetings with the Operations and Shared Services Management to align organizational goals and targets
    • Take complaints concerning discrimination, sexual harassment, and workplace harassment; lead and/or assist with investigations; provide guidance and support for supervision concerning employee relations and disciplinary action
    • Identify, in coordination with the District Manager, opportunities for employee retention and development
    • Ensure that employee appraisals are conducted correctly and in compliance with the annual schedule
    • Ensure that managers are engaged in Performance Management with their employees
    • Affirmative Action Program compliance and planning; oversight of all recruiting, selection, and placement processes; implement corrective actions as needed
    • Ensure overall contract compliance regarding employee basic and preferred qualifications, screening, training, and licensing
    • Administer G4S Safety Program; semi-annual review and revise the security Emergency Response plan; monitors compliance with regulatory and fire prevention requirements and safety items

    Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

    • Must possess one or more of the following:
      • Bachelor s Degree combined with one (1) year of Human Resources experience
      • Associate s Degree combined with thee (3) years of Human Resources experience
      • High School diploma or equivalent combined with five (5) years of Human Resources experience

    Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

    • Prior work experience conducting applicant sourcing, interviewing job applicants, and conducting employee onboarding in a fast-paced work environment
    • Prior work experience with employee relations, development and engagement as well as policy implementation and interpretation
    • Working knowledge of employment laws and civil rights legislation
    • Work history must include:
      • Demonstrated knowledge of benefits administration
      • Excellent organizational skills that include the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
      • Sound understanding of personnel and compliance records management
      • Sound understanding of policy interpretation and implementation
      • Consultative, analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership
      • Sound understanding of personnel and compliance records management
      • Ability to manage the performance review process and assist other management positions in completing performance reviews

    • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
    • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
    • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

    Physical Requirements and Environment

    Environment: Office; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected

    Major Activity: Working on PC while sitting, telephone use

    Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching.
