    Job Summary

    Performs duties to support assigned department by assembling tooling and replenishing stocks as needed.

    Job Duties

    • Collect, store and issue hand tools, machine tools, dies, measuring devices and other equipment as needed
    • Press tools for setups in process
    • Replace tools when needed by priority to limit operator and machine downtime
    • Polish, grind and break sharp edges and make repairs as necessary on tooling to prolong tool life
    • Enter tooling substitutes and calculated modifications to Pick List and advise operators on following shifts of changes
    • Deliver Tool Pick list requisitions to Tool Crib for distribution
    • Pull tools from Tool Crib to replenish tool trays at the start of shift and monitor inventory of operating tools notifying Lead of consumption
    • Maintain records of withdrawals and returns of tooling
    • Locate missing or misplaced tools
    • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
    • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
    • Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Experience and Education

    • Perform work under direct supervision
    • Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
    • Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter, including knowledge about tooling and cold nut forming
    • 1 year of experience

    • Ability to read and understand blueprints
    • Ability to use hydraulic press, pedestal grinder, drill press, lathe, surface grinder, hand grinder, calipers, micrometers, power cutter and basic hand tools
