Tradesperson Flooring
Job Summary
Provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment through cleaning and general maintenance under the direction of a supervisor. Independently performs preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and services on various types of general building features (such as locksmithing, bed repair, metal fabrication and repair, and other trades as appropriate.) Participates in the overall building management program to provide high quality, cost effective service with a high emphasis on customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Measuring up floor spaces
Working accurately from detailed plans and specifications
Preparing the subfloor to receive the floorcovering.
Using hand tools, power tools and specialist equipment
Measuring, marking and cutting floorcoverings
Installing the final floorcoverings using a wide range of methods including seam welding of commercial sheet vinyl
Working with adhesives
Removing old flooring
Working alongside other trades on commercial sites, in public spaces and industrial buildings.
Hospital work experience preferred.
Communicates and collaborates with the supervisors, tradesperson leads, and other construction trades and sub-contractors to ensure quality, timely, cost effective construction with continuity and coordination of services.
Performs comprehensive preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and services on various types of general building features. Uses various tools and measuring equipment related to the specific area of specialty to perform calculations and measurements to determine proper functions.
Documents procedures and work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Ensures proper care, maintenance and safe use of equipment and supplies and keep work areas orderly, clean and safe.
Performs work in specific area of specialty, including repair and replacement, layout, demolition and construction of all types of specialty systems and equipment which could include estimating, ordering and preparing sites for construction, installation, replacement and/or repair. Reviews project blueprints to identify any special needs, revisions or problems and communicate with the appropriate engineer/designer.
Ensures that all services are provided in accordance with legal specifications, codes, organizational policy, and compliance requirements.
Plans and coordinates work flow with other trades and acts as resource related to building systems.
Follow ICRA/PCRA procedures outlined by Epidemiology.
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years of relevant experience Required
LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan required
