Job Summary and Qualifications
Wesley Medical Center's Cardiac Neuro Critical Care unit is for patients suffering from an acute stroke or heart attack, as well any other neurologic and cardiac injuries or diseases. The unit is open 24/7 and staffed with board-certified ICU intensivist. Patients with the following neurological and cardiac conditions may be admitted into our Cardiac Neuro Critical are unit:
- Hemorrhagic Stroke
- Ischemic Stroke
- Ruptured aneurysm
- Seizures
- Brain tumors
- Encephalitis (infection of the brain)
- Meningitis (infection of the membrane around the brain or spinal cord)
- STEMI & NSTEMI
- Heart arrythmias
- Ballon pump
- Impella
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy
We are seeking a Critical Care Registered Nurse to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality and efficient care. Here is some of what you can expect from being a Critical Care Registered Nurse with us:
- You will perform and oversee care of patients with critical illness or injury utilizing the nursing process.
- Your role must possess strong assessment and clinical skills to oversee and care for patients with a multitude of disorders to include; Heart Failure, Respiratory distress, Sepsis, Multisystem Organ Failure, Neurosurgical Procedures, Invasive Cardiac Procedures, MI, Strokes and other patients meeting ICU admissions criteria.
- You will excel at following skills, interpersonal, communication, leadership, time management, critical thinking and decision making.
- You will serve as the primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current licensure in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse or current active multistate Registered Nurse license
Current BLS certificationthrough the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification course through American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR within 90 days of hire
NIH certification
