POSITION SUMMARY:
Sugarbush Resort is seeking a Full-Time Lodging Maintenance Technician to join our team. Lodging Maintenance Technicians perform ongoing maintenance and repair of resort lodging facilities including Clay Brook, Sugarbush Inn, Sugarbush Lodge, Resort's rental condos, employee housing facilities and base area facilities. Evening shift most often runs 3PM-11PM.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Maintenance Techs are responsible for repair and maintenance tasks in resort properties, including shoveling snow and plowing during the winter.
- Maintenance tasks include - drywall patching, interior/exterior painting, minor carpentry, troubleshooting televisions & appliances, pool & spa upkeep, monitoring mechanical rooms & boiler systems, monitoring fire alarm & life safety systems.
- Using tools typical to construction trades, power tools, paint sprayers, sanders, hammers, saws, snow shovels, ect.
- Workplace is both indoors & outdoors. Must be able to work outside in long periods of time in various weather conditions.
- Maintenance Techs are on a rotating schedule for overnight on call shifts. After-hours on call responsibilities will only start after an extended training period, once the employee is comfortable with all building systems & operations. Extra compensation is provided for work performed after hours.
- Perform event set up and break down as needed.
- May be asked to assist in other areas and with other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Prior experience in building trades with tools and grounds maintenance/landscaping is preferred.
- Experience with swimming pool maintenance & HVAC is a plus.
- Use of snow removal equipment including plow trucks may be required.
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in person, on a 2-way radio, and on the telephone.
- Will need a valid driver's license and must pass a motor vehicle check, as company vehicle use is expected.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays and occasional evenings; work involves indoor and outdoor tasks in various types of weather.
- High School Education or equivalency degree required.
