Job Summary
This role will work a midday shift that covers the following hours after training period: Fall/Winter-10am to 630pm and Spring/Summer-12pm to 830pm. Training period schedule is day shift and lasts approximately 18 months.
The Utility A Start position is a bargaining unit position which requires a general knowledge and ability to perform basic construction related tasks and Utility tasks such as, but not limited to; responding to leak/CO complaints when qualified, building and installing single and multiple meter sets up to AL 425, basic pipe fitting, meter changes, MRSLIP investigates, service installations, leak pinpointing and repair, meter turn-ons, inspecting UGI Contractor crews, PA One Call locates when qualified, complying with all Company safety standards, responding to callout when qualified, after hours work and exposure to all weather conditions
Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and install meter sets and basic pipe fitting
- Complete turn ons and light ups
- Meter reading and complete MRSLIP investigations
- Leak pinpointing and repairs, service installations
- Inspect UGI Contractor crews, PA One Call locates, respond to leak/CO complaints when qualified and perform other duties as requested and callout when qualified
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good mechanical skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills a plus
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid PA Drivers license
