    Environmental Field Chemist

    Clean Harbors Cottage Grove, MN is looking for anEnvironmental Field Chemist to join their safety conscious team! This person would beresponsible for assisting in the collection, identification, and profiling, as well as proper packaging and/or lab packing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at our client site in Cottage Grove, MN.

    This position is NOT a laboratory-based position.

    • Daily tour of our plant grounds to identify newly generated solid wastes;
    • Attend meetings;
    • Assistance in conducting solid waste evaluations using generator knowledge and in some cases sample analyses;
    • Preparation of waste stream profiles;
    • Preparation of hazardous waste manifest;
    • Preparation of non-hazardous industrial solid waste shipping papers for all bulk shipments of non-hazardous industrial solid wastes;
    • Scheduling and oversight of all solid and hazard waste being shipped off site;
    • Proper tracking and filing of regulatory required paperwork;
    • Proper record keeping of all waste stream profiles, associated evaluation documentation, inspection records, training records and shipping documents;
    • Proper marking and labeling of all waste containers prior to shipment;
    • Satellite and central accumulation area inspections;
    • Preparation and execution of SOP's, work instructions, and forms for proper waste management;
    • Other waste management duties as assigned.
    • Forklift experience is preferred, or open to being trained
    • High school diploma orequivalentrequired, Chemistry or Science degree preferred;
    • Chemistry background is preferred;
    • Lab Pack experience is preferred;
    • Attention to detail, abletotakeand follow direction, and to perform multiple tasks;
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
    • Ability to work in all weather climates;
    • Ability to interface withcustomers.
