    • Schedule: Rotating - Primarily nights

    Responsibilities

    Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the air transport team.

    • Respond to calls via flight, evaluate the scene of an accident and notify appropriate authorities/request additional assistance as required.
    • Perform patient assessment and triage; provide advanced life support and/or emergency care as needed before and during transport.
    • Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations and follow directives.
    • Determine appropriate mode of transport and assist with locating and establishing a landing zone for the aircraft.

    Requirements

    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    • Advanced Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Flight obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date required.
    • Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
    • One or more of the following required:
      • Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Michigan Emergency Medical Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
      • Paramedic credentialed from the Michigan Emergency Medical Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

    Education:

    • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
