    Located 16 miles south west of Chicago, Bedford Park is a village in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 580 at the 2010 census. Bedford Park consists of a small residential area and vast amounts of heavy industry sprawling to the east and a small amount to the west.

    Pactiv Bedford Park is a leading Extrusion/Injection Molding facility that produces plates, straws, cutlery, and wrapped cutlery kits for the food service industry. Built in 1974, our facility has 195,000 total square footage. We host 90 machines including Injection Molding, Extrusion, and Automated Robotic instruments. We produce approximately 75 million pounds annually and over 400,000 SKUs. We employ over 500 full-time and temporary employees who have helped us attain numerous awards including Quality Performer of the year and Safety Excellence.

    Responsibilities:

    Summary:

    The Mgr HR 1 works in conjunction with the Plant HR Manager to support team members at the facility. The position is responsible for supporting human resource practices and objectives, which will create business value through strategic management of the workforce while aligning Human Resources and the Business strategy.

    Specific Job Activities:

    • Collaborate in a team-based environment; providing excellent, friendly and responsive customer service to team members and managers.
    • Actively maintain HRIS database and personnel files to ensure record compliance; accountable in following up with managers and/or team members for incomplete information.
    • Interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
    • Support the benefits administration process by maintaining working knowledge of the companys benefit plans, lead open enrollment functions including team member education, communication and wellness activities.
    • Proactively address Team Member concerns by answering questions and/or facilitating resolution of concerns.
    • Support all team member initiatives and practices including recruitment, talent, leadership development, retention, engagement, performance and talent management.
    • Manage and maintain administration compliance of FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA in conjunction with the leave manager North America Packaging.
    • Manage end-to-end hourly and salary recruiting including; recruiting partnering with the talent acquisition team.
    • Lead and support the onboarding/exiting process to include; orientation, retention programs, exit interview and administration functions.
    • Manage processes connected with payroll administration to confirm accurate and timely payrolls.
    • Proactively conduct investigations, escalating issues/concerns and advising of conflict resolutions.
    • Communicate changes in HR Related policies and benefit plans.
    • Partner with Plant Safety Manager for effective health/safety policy and procedures to comply with corporate and regulatory requirements, these activities include but are not limited to Safe Operating Procedures, Lockout/Tagout, Hearing Conservation, Fall Prevention/Protection, and Powered Industrial Trucks
    • Perform day to day administration and maintenance of all HR departments system.
    • Perform other related duties and projects as required and assigned.
    • Lead Administrative & Compliance HR Functions.
    Qualifications:

    Qualifications

    • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field of study
    • Minimum of 3 years HR experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze issues, determine appropriate solutions and resolve sensitive problems.
    • Demonstrated customer service orientation; ability to provide service and remain focused even during emotionally charged circumstances.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communication with team members at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
    • Organization and time management skills with expert attention to detail, ability to use independent judgement effectively.
    • A highly proactive, solution-oriented approach to work and interactions.
    • Strong team player skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals at all levels of an organization.
    • Preferred: 3 + years' experience with working knowledge of Workday and UKG preferred.
