Overview:The Housekeeping House attendant is responsible for washing, ironing, folding and distributing all linens, towels, napkins and tablecloths. This position is also responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all assigned areas and equipment. He/she is also responsible for delivering, restocking, and moving items (including furniture) to guestrooms,, Housekeeping storage areas, Convenience Store and other assigned areas.
Responsibilities:Fundamental Requirements
- Employees must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
- Maintain and upkeep all corridors & public spaces/grounds/guest laundry room (dust free, remove all trash, dirty linen, etc.)
- Understand operation and cleaning of washing machines and dryers.
- Load and unload washers and dryers according to Highgate standards.
- Process, sort, stock, organize and inventory of all housekeeping supplies, amenities, chemicals and clean/dirty/stain terry & linen following Highgate Hotel Standards. Including housekeeping closest, carts, etc.
- The ability to be familiar with linen sizes and classifications.
- Operate iron as per standard and ensure that it is shut off at the end of day.
- Maintain laundry floors, storing all terry & linens off the floor.
- Keep House Attendant & laundry carts clean and free of debris.
- Maintain clean work area.
- The ability to deliver housekeeping supplies, guest amenities, linen to the floors, storage areas, guest rooms, etc.
- The ability to report any maintenance discrepancies in areas of responsibility.
- Practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests, fellow employees, and self.
- Maintain public spaces, restrooms, office areas, grounds areas according to hotel standards.
- Shampoo furniture as needed.
- Handle items for 'Lost and Found' according to hotel standards.
- At the end of the shift, turn in all keys and assignment sheets to the Housekeeping.
- Clean guestrooms as needed.
- Have knowledge of and assist in all emergency procedures.
- Maintain hotel equipment in proper working order.
- Maintain storage of hotel equipment in proper area.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the Housekeeping leader.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- Performs any other duties assigned by the management.
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field.
Physical requirements:
- Flexible and long hours sometimes Including overnight, weekends and holidays.
- Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand during entire.

- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
- Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
Salary Range ($19.00/hr - $22.00/hr)
