    Substation Senior Engineer

    Our client, a leading land surveying and engineering services firm, is seeking a Senior Substation Engineerin their Overland Park, KSlocation. Youll perform all aspects of design for high voltage (4kV 230kV) and EHV (above 230kV) substation projects. Your responsibilities include a wide spectrum, from developing detailed diagrams and schematics to generating essential documentation for design calculations, construction sequences, and procurement coordination. Additionally, youll provide technical support, ensuring construction documentation, and facilitating seamless coordination among procurement and construction efforts.

    Job Title: Senior Substation Engineer
    Location: Overland Park, KS
    Salary: $120,000 - $150,000

    About the Role:

    • Collaborate seamlessly with a P&C Designer to develop intricate schematics and associated wiring diagrams.
    • Coordinate with both internal and external project team members, recognizing the need for alignment with various design disciplines such as transmission line engineers, distribution line engineers, and telecom engineers.
    • Prioritize the production of high-quality work while actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Play a pivotal role in identifying key client interests and drivers, communicating them to the project team, and developing approaches to address these concerns.
    • Serve as a technical authority in system protection and communication, offering expert consultation and guidance to project teams.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized accredited program.
    • Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in high voltage substation design, with a focus on Protection & Control (P&C).
    • Holds an active PE license.
    • Proficiency in the use of either AutoCAD or Bentley Microstation.
    • Strong familiarity with the NEC (National Electrical Code) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
