    Job Summary:

    Contributes to the overall patient experience through a focus on communication and monitoring of patient conditions, accuracy of the clinical exam, equipment maintenance and exceptional patient satisfaction through considerate communication and patient focused interactions.

    Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Contributes to the safety of patients by monitoring safe practices and communicating concerns to other members of the care team. Collects patient and ordering information and performs tests with safety in mind.
    • Produces quality outcomes in the department by always being accountable for the quality of the exams and holding others to the same standards. Ensures that testing is efficient, equipment is maintained and appropriate procedures are followed.
    • Creates an optimal environment for patients through exceptional communication and a focus on meeting the expectations of the patient.
    • Routinely enters patient orders and charges. Checks charges to ensure accuracy.
    • Contributes to the financial goals of the department through appropriate data collection and documentation and order maintenance.
    • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION

    • High school diploma or equivalent plus specialized training from accredited school

    EXPERIENCE

    • Three years' experience

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Constant standing and walking.
    • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
    • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
    • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
    • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
    • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
    • Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
    • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
    • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
    • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
    • Rare kneeling and sitting.

    Licenses / Certifications:

    Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA), FUTURE - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) within 90 days - American Heart Association (AHA), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with Adult Echocardiography (AE) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with Fetal Echocardiography (FE) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
