Job Description
Maintenance Mechanic 1st Class
Reporting Relationships:
- Role that this position reports to: Maintenance Services Supervisor and/or Maintenance Services VS Sr Manager
- Role/s that report to this position: None
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturers instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing personal network.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Completes any other duties/responsibilities assigned by senior management.
Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Education:
- High school diploma, although or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or Trade Certificate
Experience
- 3 years in Maintenance experience
- 1 year in area of expertise (e.g. Electronics, Electricity, Refrigeration, Machinist, Machine Repair, Millwright)
- Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility or regulated environment strongly desired.
Competencies
- Time management, approachability, action oriented, listening, communication skills, detail-oriented, problem solving, team oriented, and functional/technical skills.
