Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide patient quality healthcare using diagnostic C.T. equipment. To assess doctor s orders, and obtain patient history information required to complete exams. To communicate proper exam information to patients such as preps and contrast education information. To follow protocols, regulations and policies as set by physicians, administration and state. To use universal precautions in patient care. To stock, clean and maintain a professional environment in the C.T. department. To respectfully communicate with patients, family, coworkers and physicians information needed for patient care. Required to follow procedures and protocols for PET/CT machine. To keep abreast of evolving technologies in CT. Staff is required to obtain 12 CME credits per year pertaining to CT/X-ray, and provide a copy of the credits to the supervisor. Staff is required to perform IV access and de-access protocols, including I-Stat testing.
EDUCATION:
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed by State DEP. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologies.
- Must be trained and certified in CT and MRI.
- BLS Certification Required. (American Heart Association Only).
- Successful completion of all required orientation programs.
