    Scheduler/Planner

    The Scheduler/Planner is responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work control processes. The individual is responsible for the efficient and effective use of planning and scheduling all resources to conduct maintenance activities which result in minimum downtime and maximum productivity. In order to fulfill these responsibilities in the most effective manner, the Scheduler/Planner is empowered to manage work priority, develop job plans, define parts and material, define crafts and skills, and engage the proper resources to develop a safe, effective, and efficient work control plan. In addition, the Scheduler/Planner provides the equipment-related expertise and technical guidance on improving preventive maintenance activities. The Scheduler/Planner mainly uses a computer operating a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) in many of their job functions. With cooperation of personnel from all departments, the maintenance Scheduler/Planner can effectively keep facility equipment and machinery at optimal performance.

    Responsibilities:

    • Plans, coordinates and assist with implementation of projects in conjunction with day-to-day operating schedules.
    • Prioritizes, plans, schedules, and follows-up once a valid work request is submitted for accuracy of the job plan and all planned preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and corrective work.
    • Serves as the principal contact and liaison between the maintenance department and operation planning. Ensures the area, department, or facility assigned receives professional maintenance service in a timely manner to ensure high performance and customer satisfaction.
    • Reviews work request for accuracy and clarity; clear scope of work, realistic completion date, proper lead times, correct equipment identification, proper charge number, proper authorization, and discusses details with originator of the work order.
    • Reviews the work to be performed and determines the best way to accomplish the work. Consults with originator, supervisor, operations manager, foreman, and customer, as necessary.
    • Identifies and secures all special tools/equipment, and materials required to complete the contract work by providing customers any pertinent documentation for the work order and any special instructions.
    • Provides a total cost estimate for the work to be performed including labor, material, and outside services. Evaluates the required work and creates the maintenance schedule for when the work will be done.
    • Manages the status of work control and backlog for work order submission to work order completion. Status may include waiting for planning, waiting parts, ready to schedule, scheduled, etc.
    • Participates in scheduling meetings with operation partners to finalize priority of work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead times.
    • Works to continuously improve the job estimate, planning, and scheduling, by receiving feedback from customers and other key stakeholders
    • Participates in the preparation of the maintenance budget, providing cost estimates for the projects, monitors costs against budget. Supports turnaround activities; assists in development of critical path plans and budgets. Provides information for weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
    • Metric Development, visualization, and tracking
    • Develop job plans per specified standards (Ex. OEM) including identification of preventative maintenance steps, spare parts, safety considerations and requirements, etc.
    • Communicate clearly, understand and acknowledge verbal instructions, and be able to read and interpret work from drawings, written work orders, sketches, blueprints, and technical manuals


    Qualifications:

    • Knowledge and understanding of maintenance processes, proper use of work order systems, planning and scheduling, and storeroom processes.
    • Knowledge of life science production systems (reactors, autoclaves, etc.), Clean Utilities Systems (Wi-Fi Generation System, RODI, etc.), and Plant Utilities Systems (Boilers, Chilled Water Systems, etc.)
    • Knowledge of LOTO practices and NFPA 70Eguidelines
    • Ability to accurately estimate material and labor hours required to complete tasks.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and employees.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    • PC literate. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel ex. Gantt charts and Smart sheets, internet, as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
    • Exceptional written and communication skills including the ability to persuade, influence without direct reporting relationships, negotiate, and make formal presentations in meetings and training environments.
    • Experienced in project management methodologies with focus on managing solution driven strategy plans to achieve goals.
    • Exceptional planning, time management, collaboration, strategic decision making and organization skills.
    • Able to champion change and implement new approaches, systems, processes, etc. required to meet strategic objectives for customer satisfaction, growth, and profitability.
    • Autonomous/Independent -- enjoys working with little direction, able to read, write and speak English fluently, bilingual a plus.
    • Associate Degree in a Technical Field
    • Experienced in providing leadership and influence without direct reporting relationships. Preferred:
    • Bachelors degree in business or a related field from a four-year college or university.
    • Minimum five (5) years in maintenance planning or scheduling.
    • Minimum two (2) years CMMS experience.
    • Janitorial & Carpet Cleaning Services industry experience.
    • Certified CMRP or TPMC Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
    • Valid Drivers License.
    • Some knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word).
    • Computer literate.
    • This is an administrative role with interaction with our employees so Spanish is highly desired and communication organizational skills are also desired.


    Compensation: $58,000 - $60,000 per year

    Shift: Monday - Friday
