Job Summary
Altice USA is seeking a Manager of Wireless to lead a team of high-performing network engineers and operators to maintain and improve our Wi-Fi network infrastructure and services. The candidate will play a key role in driving projects related to the design, integration, standardization, and hardware refresh and is responsible for the technical success of these projects.The candidate must be forward thinking and have a vision for the future of the network and team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the WiFi Engineering team responsible for design, implementation, and support of all WiFi projects, including corporate WiFi, outdoor/indoor community WiFi services, commercial hotspots, WiFi roaming, Mobile Data Offload, etc.
- Manage WiFi infrastructures life cycle, inventory, and ensure that its monitored and secure.
- Provide strategic direction for technical projects including new designs, concept designs, and projects available for production.
- Clearly and concisely communicate both written and verbally with executives and business stakeholders.
- Interdepartmental collaboration to achieve business objectives.
- Maintain standard documentation including operations manuals, procedural documents, and network diagrams.
- Create yearly budget requirements and present clear justification to executive management.
- Generate and validate ROI and budget calculations for network solutions.
- Provide technical oversight to engineering and operations teams.
- Generate technical presentations based on results of design/testing and present to upper management.
- Appropriately respond to and successfully deliver all ad hoc requests made by the management team.
- Participate in advanced Wi-Fi problem resolution.
- Explore automation routines to drive operational efficiencies.
- Manage implementation schedules and ensure proper communication to the business.
- Provide escalation support and coordinate the team for major outages.

Qualifications
- MS or BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience, relevant network certifications (CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years experience managing a network engineering team.
- 7+ years experience in network engineering.
- Professional level knowledge of WiFi standards 802.11ac/ax, 802.11u (Passpoint / HotSpot 2.0).
- Professional level knowledge of RF concepts - RSSI, SNR, Channel width, beamforming, etc.
- Professional level knowledge of network mechanisms - 802.1x, Tunneling, VPN, NAT, ACL, Load Balancing.
- Professional level knowledge of routing protocols - BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, IS-IS, etc.
- Professional level knowledge of network protocols TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP, EAP, RADIUS, DHCP, DNS, PMIP, EoGRE, HTTPS, LDAP, SNMP, IPSec, SSL/TLS, LACP.
- Knowledge of Cisco Wireless Controllers (WLC), Access Points (AP).
- Basic knowledge of HFC and FTTx broadband network infrastructure.
- Experience with packet sniffing and Protocol Analysis Software.
- Professional level knowledge of network security best practices.
- Professional knowledge of network design to support high availability services.
- Experience with RF link planning, optimization, and mapping tools such as Pathloss, LINKPlanner, InfoVista Planet or MapInfo a plus.
- Industry certifications across several disciplines a plus.
- Knowledge of 3GPP mobile telecommunication protocols a plus.
- Knowledge of telephony protocols (SIP, SDP, RTP) a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Superior documentation skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law.Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $123,379.00-$202,694.00/ year. The rate/Range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
