Job Description
Behavior Technicians implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment programs with Your Life ABA VA, LLC clients and families under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor. Treatment plans are designed to address skill acquisition as well as challenging behavior reduction and may occur in a variety of settings including the Your Life ABA VA, LLCs clinic, clients home, school, community, or via telehealth. Behavior Technicians report to the Operations Manager or Regional Clinical Supervisor or Clinical Supervisor and work in close collaboration with the Clinical Team. This position has no direct reports.
This position may require evening and weekend hours .
We're looking for Part-Time Behavior Technicians
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct treatment to clients under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor in a 1:1 or group environment
- Provide treatment that exceeds YOUR LIFE ABA VA, LLCs clinical quality standards by maintaining an average of 75% of the YLABA Integrity Check (ICs), as measured by Clinical Supervisor and/or Behavior Technician Lead observation
- Collect and maintain accurate and timely records, record data, and chart client's progress with high fidelity.
- Review and implement Clinical Operations Leadership feedback during each treatment session.
- Maintain compliance with RBT Ethics Code in collaboration with Clinical Operations Team.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients, families, and colleagues Provide a safe and supportive environment for clients, families, and colleagues
- Seek personal growth and training opportunities to ensure clinical excellence.
- Always maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements
- Represent YOUR LIFE ABA VA, LLC professionally and ethically to internal and external stakeholders
- Adhere to YOUR LIFE ABA VA, LLC policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Empathetic and compassionate individual with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members while maintaining a positive and solution focused attitude
- Ability to work independently while providing direct treatment to clients
- An effective communicator in both verbal and written formats
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
- Desire to continuously learn and develop skillsets
- Willingness to work in a variety of locations (center, client's home, etc.)
- Willingness to work with a variety of clients, typical age ranges (2-21).
- Reliable means of transportation with proof of auto insurance for some locations
- Knowledge of Microsoft systems and Central Reach preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in Early Childhood Development, Care Centers, Direct Care, Patient Advocacy, and ABA Therapy Clinics; highly preferred
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD); highly preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
- Available for weekday hours; weekend and event hours as needed
- Must pass initial Your Life ABA VA, LLC Training Program, including passing a comprehensive exam and field evaluation provided by Clinical Operations Team.
- Must attend reoccurring professional development monthly training with YLABA
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse and Neglect, Fingerprinting.
- Must pass tuberculosis test or provide proof of recent negative test 1 year
- Must pass by annual First Aid/CPR training
- Must pass annual MANDT Training

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and occasional local and/or overnight travel.
- The mode of transportation for travel typically will include automobile and plane.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Be able to work with clients seated on the floor, in small chairs, or in other home, school, community and clinic environments.
- Move frequently throughout the therapeutics setting to gather materials, anticipate and respond to a client's movement, and/or provide instruction in various settings, such as school, playground, clinic, or community locations.
- Constantly position oneself to participate and respond to the movements and behaviors of clients, including but not limited to bending to assist a client, kneeling/crouching to teach a play skill, hurrying to block an open doorway, or reaching to prevent a client from entering a traffic congested street.
- Be able to utilize continuous visual tracking to monitor the movement of clients, as well as the items and circumstances in the surrounding environment.
- Occasionally move to evade aggressive behaviors and/or physically block attempts to aggressive towards others.
- Responding to behaviors may occasionally require bearing weight of a clients who is leaning, pushing, etc.
- Occasionally use modeling to teach gross motor skills, such as climbing or jumping, and fine motor skills such as clapping or opening a container
- Work in both indoor and outdoor settings as they relate to the client's natural environment, which may include being outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (e.g., community skills, recess in a school setting, etc.)
- Be able to lift- up to 30 lbs. while assisting clients.
