    Job Summary
    The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation. Performs all aspects of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, pelvic, gynecologic, small parts, Doppler studies and interventional procedures utilizing an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patients individual age specific needs and to provide individualized age specific treatment and care. This position may require performing procedure in other departments such as O.R., I.R. and on hospital inpatient units. This position is 100% clinical.

    Education:Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.

    Experience: One year of experience preferred as an Ultrasound Technologist; including but not limited to: abdominal, renal/aorta, pelvic/transvaginal, breast, carotid doppler, venous doppler-lower and upper extremity and thyroid.

    Experienceperforming the following exams: arterial/ABIs, renal doppler for renal artery stenosis, breast core biopsies/aspirations, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and thyroid biopsies preferred. Six (6) months experience in Ultrasound hospital setting preferred.

    Licensure, Certification, Registration:Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer ARDMS or RDMS required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
