Job Description:
One of the nation's leading industrial repair facilities is looking for a well-qualified laser tracker operator. This position will work in our quality department and with our shop machinists and field machinists to help meet the metrology needs of our industrial customers. This is a full-time hourly position.
Core Responsibilities:- Proficiently and independently operate Leica Laser Tracker and arm with Spatial Analyzer software in heavy industrial environments.
- Produce easy to understand and visually appealing inspection reports that include written descriptions, 3-D pictures and data tables.
- Work with field machining teams to inspect equipment and align field machine tools.
- Assist field machining teams with setup, machining and cleanup during times when the tracker is not needed.
- Follow policy and procedures including safe work practices.
- Be able to physically perform all duties required which may include: bending, lifting, carrying, squatting, climbing, scissor lifts, moving around in confined spaces or being on your feet for prolonged periods of time
- Be willing to work around industrial, mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as use hand tools and power tools
- Be willing to work indoors and outdoors, occasionally in extreme temperatures
- Be willing to work occasionally on elevated platforms, scaffolding, or climbing ladders
- Evaluate equipment and work with customers and engineers to develop and perform measurement plans for inspections, alignments and reverse engineering.
- Work with existing sales team to identify and develop new laser tracker service opportunities.
Essential Requirements:- Minimum 5 years' experience with laser tracker metrology in industrial environments.
- Must be proficient with Spatial Analyzer and Microsoft Office
- Strong mechanical aptitude including algebra and geometry skills
- Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to travel at a moment's notice
- Travel may require working nights, weekends and holidays
- Candidate must be able to work independently with minimal or no supervision
- Presents a professional image at all times
- Requires the ability to successfully negotiate and develop relationships
