Residential Counselors
Description
We are currently seeking Residential Counselors to work within a Community Residence Program assisting mentally ill and or mentally challenged individuals. Under the supervision of the Residence Manager, the Residential Counselors would be responsible for the provision of direct services for all individuals in the residence.
Responsibilities:
- Work with mentally ill and mentally challenged individuals by creating behavior plans and teaching self-care skills
- Assisting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing
- Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes and tidying
- Assist with planning client appointments and organize schedules
- Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client dietary needs
- Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities
- Adhere to the organizations Code of Ethics
- Effectively communicate and support the organizations mission, vision, and values
- Accurately document service provision, daily notes, and other information as required
Education & Experience
- High school diploma
- COVID Vaccination Required
- Experience in a residential setting dealing with Mentally Ill and/or Mentally Challenged individuals preferred, not required
- Must be beyond probationary period
- Must have no disciplinary action on file for past 12 months
Physical Demands/Qualifications:
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds or more
- Daily standing, bending and lift
- Must be able to stand for at least eight hours at a time
- Shifts: 11:00pm-9:00am / 3:00pm-11:00pm / 12:00am-8:00am / 4:00pm-12:00am
