DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Agenda for Children Literacy Initiative at the Cambridge Public Health Department is an early literacy program supporting Cambridge moms, dads and caregivers of children birth to 8 years old through 3 programs Lets Talk!, Pathways to Family Success and Cambridge Dads.
Summary:
Participate in, organize, and/or facilitate home visits, workshops, and events that:
Help parents understand the importance of talking and reading to their young children.
Provide information to parents about resources and services that are available to them.
Help parents connect to agencies or organizationsResponsibilities:
Do home visits to families in English and/or your home language. This includes finding families who want to be visited, as well as visiting them.
Outreach to families in your communities through mailings, phone calls, and in-person conversations.
Attend activities, events and fairs with Agenda for Children staff members.
Assist and/or lead workshops in English, and also in another language (if you are Bilingual).
Continue to learn about available community resources.
Attend all necessary training sessions.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
