    Responsibilities

    Ascension Columbia St. Mary's is looking for a full-time (0.9 FTE) APRN-Nurse Midwife-Certified for our Labor and Delivery Department.

    This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Milwaukee to provide medical services to patients.

    Position Highlights:

    • Work with collegial staff including OB Providers, OB and FHC residents aw well as nursing staff in Labor and Delivery.
    • L&D unit consists of 12 labor beds, 4 OB ED beds, 2 Prep/Recovery beds, 3 ORs, and 10 Antepartum rooms.
    • Associate should have strong experience in Labor and Delivery and should be able to multitask and communicate well with the team while managing labor patients and OB ED patients.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop a comprehensive plan of care and discharge plan based on the assessment and integration of the medical plan.
    • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
    • Provide education/counseling to patient and patient's family with respect to pregnancy, childbirth,
      care of the newborn, contraception, family planning and gynecological care.
    • Provide care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared
      decision-making and the right to self-determination.

    Requirements

    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Nurse Midwife credentialed from the Wisconsin Midwives Advisory Committee obtained prior to hire
      date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

    Education:

    • Master's or Doctorate of Science in Nursing or Midwifery or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
