Job Description
Officer Wellness Coordinator - Located in Rockford, IL
- Provide individual, couple, and group therapy when appropriate.
- Accompany officers in the field to provide on-site support.
- Providing initial and follow-up debriefing to personnel involved in critical incident response.
- Providing resiliency training on psychological and stress management, officer wellness, critical incidents, suicide awareness and prevention for first responders.
- Provide psychoeducational services to officers to build symptom awareness for mental illness, substance use, and suicidality.
- Documentation of services in client records management database/electronic health records system, ensuring confidentiality of client information
- Consulting and collaborating with staff, management, and health care professionals about matters related to mental health.
- Potentially supervise staff or interns
Experience
Required- 2 - 5 years: Masters level clinician licensed in the state of Illinois (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT). PsyD, PhD, or postdoctoral associate preferred. Minimum of two years therapy experience providing an array of therapeutic approaches: CBT, EMDR, exposure therapy. Previous experience and/or competency providing trauma-informed care to first responders and their families. Willingness to receive further training in this specialty.
Education
Required- Masters Social Work or better in Social Work or related field
- Masters or better in Psychology or related field
