    Perioperative Services Nurse Director

    This renowned and prestigious hospital is actively interviewing for a Nurse Director to oversee a busy Perioperative Services Department. Apply today, and lead a dedicated and experienced Operating Room (OR) Team in one of the Phoenix, AZ Areas most advanced medical centers.

    The Perioperative Services Director will join an outstanding medical center and play an important role in supporting the clinical and administrative mission of the health system. This 200 bed medical center has earned a reputation for outstanding patient care and employee engagement. This medical center offers a wide array of services including Neurosciences, Oncology, Orthopedic Care, and a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

    Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nurse Director will lead a distinguished team of surgery professionals. This person will be supported by a seasoned CNOR Operating Room Manager, and a CPAN Nurse Manager who oversees Pre-Anesthesia Testing, Recovery/PACU/Endoscopy. Additional unit-based support will come from an amazing team of engaged surgeons and physicians, and over 100 FTEs.

    The Perioperative Services Nurse Director will lead clinical and administrative operations in a department that has 7 General ORs, 2 Same-Day Surgical Suites, 2 dedicated procedure rooms and 1 Hybrid room. The Surgical Services Department has cutting-edge technology built in to every suite, so it can offer a full range of surgery procedures, from Neurosurgery to Orthopedics, and Cardiothoracic to Podiatry. This unit has been awarded both locally and nationally for high performing metrics in Robotics, low infection rates, and outstanding employee engagement. Engagement is another place that the Surgery Department really shines, as the nurses here feel like they have a voice and like theyre part of a family.

    The Perioperative Services Nurse Director will take a very important role in supporting the Surgical Services Director in the administration and clinical advancement of the unit. The Director will oversee budget development and execution, will spearhead staffing for the unit, and will be the coordinator for regulatory and compliance documentation. A strong background in Perioperative Management will allow this person to excel in leading quality initiatives like improving turnover times, as well as judging performance-based metrics for the unit and for individuals

    Clinically, the Nursing Director will serve as an educator and mentor to the staff, driving a culture of shared accountability. This person will work closely with perioperative educators and Clinical Nurse Specialists, supporting the development and execution of skills assessments and education plans. The Director will pursue quality patient-care as a priority, and will engage the nursing staff in following that example.
