    Senior Finance Manager

    The Senior Finance Manager at The Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel will assist in managing the day-to-day operation of the Finance Office. Primary responsibilities include financial analysis and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit and control, asset and liability reconciliation, working capital and cash control.
    Responsibilities:Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage othersAdvocate sound financial and business decision makingDemonstrate honesty and integrity, lead by exampleOversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processesEnsure that regular on-going communication occurs with team members to create awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performanceCelebrate successes by publicly recognizing the contributions of team membersEstablish and maintains open, collaborative relationships with team membersParticipate in the team member performance appraisal process, providing feedbackEnsure property policies are administered fairly and consistentlyGenerate and provide accurate and timely reports, presentations, etc.Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problemsCompile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, and verify information or dataEnsure that the P&L is accurate (i.e., costs are properly matched to revenue, costs are recorded in the proper accounts) and statements are deliveredReconcile balance sheetEnsure tax rates used for sales/use tax are current and proper amounts are collected and/or accruedEnsure compliance with standard and local operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs)Ensure account balances are supported by appropriate documentation in accordance with SOPsReview audit issues and makes corrections as necessaryEnsure property permits, licenses, and (if applicable) vendor contracts are currentLeverage centralized accounting processes and shared servicesUse relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standardsLeverage technology and effectively uses information systems and tools to generate financial reports and provide managers with analytical support to drive decision-makingInforms and update the team on relevant financial information in a timely mannerAdvise the Corporate Director of Finance on existing and evolving financial issuesCommunicate financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand and drives desired behaviorsProvide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding finance and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resourcesSubmit reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlinesEnsure profits and losses are documented accuratelyAchieve and exceed goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.Support a strong finance & operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability, and manage business risks
    Requirements:4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related majorMinimum Two years of experience with finance functions in a full-service hotelKnowledge of business law, taxes, and Department of Labor regulationsSound analytical and decision-making skillsLeadership and organizational skills (team orientation, flexible, adaptable)Proficient in computers and basic understanding of complex computerized financial systems and ability to use it including manual dexterity to operate all office machinesExcellent communication skills both written and oralExcellent time managementAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentExperience with payroll processingAn aptitude for self-motivationA can-do attitude and a hands-on approach
