    Position pay range: $57,500-$72,000 based upon experience
    Position Description General Summary: Not limited to
    Driver Managers are responsible on enhancing the profitability of the company by orchestrating the continuous movement program and implementing the best overall solution utilizing company assets and/or IC assets, and management of the (approval center, trailer storage). The Driver Manger will be involved in administration job duties and responsibilities which indirectly contribute to servicing Fort Transfer customers and accomplishing company goals.

    Responsibilities are enterprise wide for Fort transfer, Driver Managers supervise, manage, and coach IC and company drivers. Primary goal is to increase loaded miles to increase driver pay and profitability for the company. Driver managers are influencers on load assignment but are not decision makers on loads, load assignments by driver or customer those responsibilities are with central planning and central logistics, by definition this is not a dispatch role.
    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Act as the drivers primary point of contact. Daily check calls and empty calls.
    • TMW System Administration: Zero Defect and absolute adherence to the update protocols of TMW at the daily required times and at the directive of the Director of Operations. Daily Workflow priority one.
    • Coach drivers on safe driving practices. Coordinate with drivers, staff, and management to hold meetings and resolve issues when necessary.
    • Provide utilization to the Terminal Manager by noon and then an updated version by 5 PM.
    • Review and act on Dawg reports (Orders completed 24 hours for paperwork, orders started and late, tractor expirations, driver expirations, and conduct annual pay evaluations).
    • Manage driver requests for time off and home time and update availability in TMW.
    • Make sure drivers are in compliance with maintenance and safety policies.
    • Coordinate drivers activity through TMW and follow up to confirm that drivers are updating their macros
    • Coordinate with drivers on a regular basis to make sure that they are up to date on company safety policies and that their CDL & Hazmat are in good standing. Also make arrangements to have random drug screens complete in a timely manner when necessary.
    • Execute border crossing paperwork when applicable
    • Manage hourly time and detention approval
    • Write com checks and do cash advances within approved limits.
    • Develop amiable, genuine, and supportive relations with drivers on a personal and professional level and collaborate with other departments to help them solve their problems.
    • Coordinate with drivers to ensure timely pickup and delivery.
    • Keep track of drivers hours of service and miles in coordination with load planners to achieve maximum productivity in given hours.
    • Assist with daily phone calls and fielding those calls to the proper party as well as use telephone lines to assist customers, drivers and/or vendors in order to complete assigned tasks.
    • Other duties and special projects as assigned by the Terminal Manager, Director of Operations, or Senior Management.

    • Actively promotes and develops a culture of safety that produces an environment where safety-related incidents are minimized.
    • Familiarize yourself with Fort Hope and caring programs communicating to Fort Hope when you hear from drivers.
    • Aids in the organization ability to implement an operational design and strategy to meet operational and financial performance expectations.
    • Identifies areas for operational improvement around fleet utilization and cost reduction, compiling action plans for improvement
    • Provides timely tracking and tracing updates to customer service upon request
    • Serve as an internal functional help desk for corporate freight management in TMW - TMS and also fleet management operations if required to do so.
    • Understand specific supply chain challenges, assist in developing solutions, and manage the implementation of those solutions, bridging the gap between strategic planning and operational execution, while maintaining white glove service.
    • Assist in developing and monitoring performance metrics relative to internal processes and client account activities.
    • Able to adjust optimization as needed to accommodate changes in business rules.
