Job Description
Production Manager
Responsibilities / Tasks
- Manage all Manufacturing Operations in Romeoville.
- Supervise Production personnel, including Second Shift Supervisor, Day shift leads, fillers, and batchmasters.
- Develop and enforce safety procedures to meet GEA and OSHA regulations. Conduct training and maintain records.
- Ensure adherence to Quality system SOPs, conducting necessary employee training and maintaining Quality training records.
- Participate in Monthly Customer complaint meetings, contributing to investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Drive process improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Monitor packaging and raw material inventory levels as required.
- Review batch tickets, investigate anomalies, and address yield variations.
- Interface with Customer support and Technical Service to resolve field-reported problems.
- Collaborate with QA staff to address quality issues, scrap, rework, and adjustments.
- Implement SOPs per QA instructions and train employees accordingly.
- Support R&D in scale-up activities, process validations, and sampling of new formulae.
- Ensure compliance with Regulations (EPA, OSHA, DEA, FDA, Health Canada, etc.), developing and implementing necessary procedures.
- Maintain training records and assist the Regulatory department as needed.
Your Profile / Qualifications
- 10 years of Manufacturing supervisory experience, preferably in a regulated environment, with Chemical and Food industry experience being beneficial.
- Experience with regulatory agencies is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Good organizational and communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and internet search tools is required.
- Good managerial skills are a must.
Physical Demands:
- Requires effective communication and listening skills.
- Must be ambulatory and capable of remaining seated for extended periods.
- Proficient use of hands and fingers for operating computer equipment and handling chemicals.
- Ability to handle various chemicals in a laboratory setting while understanding and enforcing proper safety protocols.
Work Environment:
- Ability to handle various chemicals in a laboratory setting.
- Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals in a regulated environment.
- May encounter moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
- Moderate to low noise level in the work environment.
