SHIFT
ORE - Shift 2 ($.55) (United States of America - Oregon)A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Operations Technician, Straightener, uses various straightening techniques per tech card to physically straighten castings to meet blueprint dimensions. This position performs various operations including but not limited to straightening, buffing, and grinding on parts to achieve the required dimensional specifications. They are also cross-trained on and can perform numerous operations within manual production without supervision. They lead on the job training of lower level Operations Technicians.
WHAT YOU WILL DO- Lead the training of personnel as directed by the department Supervisor or Lead.
- Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.
- Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
- Detect report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
- Follow designated safety rules and regulations.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
- Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.
- Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.
- Detect report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
- Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products
- Perform different types of operations based on manufacturing needs
- Use various straightening techniques per tech card to physically straighten castings to meet blueprint dimensions.
- Perform straightening operation using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; fixtures, jigs, hydraulic press, hammers, etc.
- Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.
- Complete proper documentation as required including, but not limited to, process routing card and salvage router, scrap tags, etc.
- Identify and record as Scrap all castings that do not meet customer specifications after rework.
- Route Scrap castings to designated area.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS- High School Or Equivalent (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS- Operations Experience (Preferred)
- Experience as a Trainer (Preferred)
- Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)
- 3+ Years of Experience (Required)
