Supply Clerk
Supply Technician
A thorough knowledge of material handling, receiving, inspecting, and
warehouse procedures to maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts,
materials and tools.
(b) Completing shop repair orders, service request forms, procurement requests and other paperwork, keeping records and files for equipment (tech. manuals, parts manuals), parts ordered, material catalogs and instructions.
(c) Shipping clerk to package, box, crate and ship equipment using various types of containers and packaging materials; preparing shipping documents and all necessary paperwork for outgoing shipments and maintaining a computer data base for all incoming and outgoing shipments.
(d) Experience with Navy/DoD/US Government supply procedures and systems.
(e) Knowledge of various stock classes and the distinguishing characteristics of similar classes used to identify material and its condition. Knowledge and
training in the handling of hazardous materials for shipping, receiving, and
temporary storage.
(f) Experience in the use of an automated computer based supply system in order to locate and maintain an automated inventory control of supplies and
materials using a high and low limit method.
(g) Capability to maintain a cooperative relationship, interface assertively and
effectively with all levels of project and procurement personnel, such as
requestors, clients, purchasing agents, commercial and government supply
sources, and transportation carriers to mediate problems which delay the
swift movement of material to the end use requirement.
