    Job Description
    Sets up and operates engine lathes, milling machines, drill presses, air-hydraulic power presses, grinders, furnace, shaper, saws and other machines to construct or repair metal parts, carbon parts, and tools.
    Duties & Responsibilities
    Works from factory work orders, prints, written specifications, sketches or verbal instructions. Uses all necessary machinists' hand tools including scrapers, chisels, files, and measuring instruments. Uses knowledge of shop mathematics, charts and tables, Uses of standard bolts, screws, threads and tapers, etc. to efficiently plan work. Utilizes knowledge of working properties of aluminum, brass, cast iron, carbon and alloy steels. Works to precise dimensions within tolerances as close as .001'. Grinds own tools of high speed steel, satellite or carbide. Keeps machines clean and lubricated. Makes proper job and time reports. Performs dimensional inspection on machine work from outside shops. Raises, lowers and moves material weighing up to 25 lbs. Additional duties as assigned.

    The Individual
    High school diploma or equivalent required with minimum 2 years of technical training Minimum 2 years previous experience plus minimum 5 weeks on-the-job training. Ability to understand and solve technical problems of average nature Ability to read and interpret work related machine drawings
