    LIS Support Analyst

    Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:

    Job Summary

    Manages, coordinates, and establishes priorities for complete implementation of Laboratory Information System (LIS). Primary responsibility is to support the implementation of LabIS (LIS) and provide day-to-day support to external clients. This will involve coordination of testing with laboratory, various departments within IT and sales. The candidate will be trained on other Laboratory information system that is being used other Sonic Laboratories as part of the LIS Implementation Team.

    Essential Key Responsibilities

    • Primarily responsibility will be Laboratory Information System implementation and operational support.
    • Diagnoses and corrects system problems with help from internal developers.
    • Field incoming incident or service requests from internal or external customers via telephone, web and e-mail in a courteous manner.
    • Document all pertinent end customer identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.
    • Classify and prioritize problems and escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced analysts.
    • Identify, learn, and support appropriate Laboratory Information System software and hardware.
    • Test LIS enhancements and bug fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.
    • Perform post-resolution follow-ups to incident requests for customer satisfaction.
    • Perform communication activities to customers in regards to the implementation of programs, policies and services provided by the company.
    • Provides immediate response to technical questions and problems related to hardware, network or application related issues.
    • Quickly determines the scope and urgency of reported problems.
    • Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems encountered between personal computer hardware, software and peripherals.
    • Assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting network connectivity and network printing issues.
    • Works with vendors and maintenance service providers to diagnose, repair and correct issues for users.
    • Troubleshoots basic to intermediate network issues before escalation to other technical experts.
    • Participates on an on-call basis.
    • Provide software installation.
    • Proactive engagement with lab and administrative personnel to build trusting relationships.
    • Adheres to safety, confidentiality and legal requirements.

    Requirements

    • College degree in Science
    • Medical Laboratory experience preferred but not required.
    • Knowledge of Laboratory information will be helpful.
    • Self-motivated able to manage multiple projects without constant supervision
    • Desire to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • Knowledge of laboratory policies, procedures, standards and systems.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions, recognize, and correct hazardous conditions.
    • Knowledge of office management techniques and practices.
    • Knowledge of computer systems, programs and applications.
    • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
    • Skill in using computer programs to produce necessary reports.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to work under pressure, communicate and present information.
    • Working knowledge of computer workstation, peripherals and how the connect to a business network.
    • Ability to read, interpret and apply policies and procedures.
    • Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, organize and analyze information.
    • Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.

    Environmental Working Conditions

    • Work performed in laboratory environment
    • Travel as needed
