JOB SUMMARY- Work cooperatively to develop robust processes and tooling to further the companys growth in the industrial and aerospace investment casting markets.
- Support key engineering activities for new product introduction, production yields and processes through data acquisition and work instruction documents.
- Identify/define problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to problems that will decrease rework and increase overall yield and quality of the product using a standardized problem-solving approach.
- Travel periodically to tooling vendors to provide problem-solving and technical support.
- Participate in cross functional teams to address product quality and flow.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES- Expedite the acquisition of manufacturing information critical to the development of new product.
- Assist in the prompt review of customer drawings, specifications, and related criteria.
- Assist in the initial development of wax assemblies, including shell trials, cast parameters and construction techniques, and construction.
- Assist in the development of traveler sequences, Oracle bill of materials, and PEIs (Engineering Instructions) for various product operations.
- Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, product inspection data, Product Engineering Instructions (PEIs)
- Maintain fixed process documentation and tracking.
- Assist Engineering with maintenance of PEIs, including taking photos for PEIs, publishing, and distributing instructions.
- Create, compile, and review MRB and submittal paperwork for customer.
- Create, edit, and distribute trial lots for Engineers.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods in pre-metal and post-metal operations.
- Identify manufacturing requirements and potential variation for scrap reduction.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of inspection data to enable root cause identification and reduce process variation.
- Create and provide statistical reports on an as-needed basis to Engineering.
- Actively participate in our Continuous Improvement efforts, promote quality excellence, and encourage teamwork among CPP personnel and our external customers.
- Routinely audit production lots for adherence to established techniques and procedure to ensure repeatable product quality.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure organization objectives are achieved.
- Perform routine safety audits and report observations.
QUALIFICATIONS- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred Associates Degree)
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in investment casting, quality, tooling design, or CAD experience in Engineering or manufacturing environment. Increasing levels of responsibility.
- Certifications/Licenses: None
- Other Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge of basic math and simple statistics. Basic MS Office skills: Word, Excel. Excellent problem-solving skills. Good communication skills (written and verbal). Excellent organizational, interpersonal and documentation skills. The ability to record data accurately. Detail oriented. Availability to work overtime. Occasional off shift and weekend availability. Ability to travel periodically to other CPP facilities, customers, and tooling vendors.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT- Office Setting 60%, Production Floor 40%
- Physical Demands: Sitting/Standing for extended periods of time. Able to lift up to 20lbs. Extended periods of time using a computer screen.
- Travel Requirements: 5-10%
- Required PPE: Check for required PPE in required work areas.
- Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
- Steel Toe Shoes/Boots: Needed in all areas of the plant.
- Hourly rate = $20-$30 per hour
