About the Role:
- Manage existing and new indirect category suppliers to support the goals of the company
- Supporting overall vendor management initiatives to ensure that targeted cost savings objectives are achieved through cost reductions, cost avoidances and rebates
- Establish and maintain relationships with general managers, location staff and corporate department heads to ensure that procurement processes are understood and adhered to
- Negotiate contracts and agreements terms prior to approving the use of new suppliers
- Source appropriate products to support the needs of customers and internal departments
- Engage in activities to help promote Disadvantage Business Enterprise programs with the company
- Align with internal customers and understand the business needs, challenges, and application of the categories being managed
- Track and report key metrics
Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:
- Bachelors degree required
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Economics is preferred
- CPM, C.P.S.M., CPIM, CIPS or other Professional Certification related to procurement, sourcing or supply chain is a plus
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required:
- At least 1-3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing or supply chain management, preferably with indirect category knowledge
- Ability to negotiate contracts and agreements with favorable terms
- Supplier management experience is required
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization (internal & external)
- Strong project management skills/experience
- Able to successfully handle multiple priorities, mediate conflicts and have outstanding organizational skills
- Detail oriented and analytical
- Strong sense of creativity to think outside the box on issues that are not being resolved using traditional approaches
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Travel requirement outside of immediate area: 10%
