    What this job involves - This role primarily provides light electrical work throughout our client site. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain experience that has recently completed a trade school program for the electrical field, or an individual that is interested in 'light' electrical work.

    What is your day to day?

    • Changes ballasts and light bulbs/fixtures as needed, relocate or replaces electrical outlets.
    • Works in a team setting to trouble shoot door controls.
    • Potentially assembles, installs, tests, and maintainselectrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
    • Could assist in repairing and maintaininglarge motors, equipment, and control systems in campus factoryareas.
    • Diagnosesmalfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
    • Inspectselectrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
    • Advisesmanagement on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
    • Testselectrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure system safety.
    • Preparessketches or followsblueprints to determine the location of wiring, fixtures, and equipmentandto ensure conformance to job specifications, building and safety codes.
    • Installsground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
    • Repairsor replaceswiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Also placesconduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
    • Providespreliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
    • Performs minor electrical testing, troubleshooting, inspections and repairs for general building work.
    • Respondsto a wide range of mechanical and electrical problems and troubleshootsto repair, including the ability to rebuild pumps and electric motors in house. Solid experience with laser alignment is also strongly desired.
    • Documentsproblems encountered andcommunicatesthese through electronic work order systems, email and voice systems.
    • Operates systems in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with government regulatory compliance and standard operating procedures according to NFPA70E.
    • Performs maintenance in accordance with the CMMS. Assistswith the development and improvement of preventative maintenance programs, schedules, work instructions, SOPs and operational procedures.
    • Recommends measures to improve equipment performance and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, shop, or work crew.
    • Providesgeneral labor services throughout all areas maintained by the Facilities department including cleaning and organization of designated work areas.
    • Successfully completestraining and demonstratesan ability to perform equipment monitoring and operational checks on utility equipment.
    • Complete site GMP requirements in relation to training and site practices.
    • MaintainsGMP training qualifications to ensure site compliancy standards.
    • Complies with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
    • Maintains all codes, laws and regulations through the JLL compliance programandmaintainsa clean and safe workplace.
    • Interactswell with others in a team environment including maintenanceandengineering team members as well as otherinternal orexternal customers.
    • Isa teamplayer with the desire to foster teamwork to help create a positive working environment.
    • Able to work independently and follow escalation policy if needed.
    • Actively participates in, technical and safety training programs.
    • Must be able to occasionally provide On-Call coverage andafter-hourssupport.
    • Performs additional duties as directed.

    Required

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Knowledge of LOTO programs and requirements
    • Education or experience in maintenance, construction, repair and servicing of power distribution systems, wiring systems, and motor starters and controls.
    • Working knowledge of AC Live Line Work Minimum ApproachDistance,experienceusing electrical test equipment.
    • Experience troubleshooting electrical circuits.
    • Must be abletoholdand grip objects, bend, squat, kneel, climb, crawl, and reach overhead.
    • Must be able to work in awkwardpositionsthat require atwistandturnoftorso.
    • Push and pull up to 50pounds.
    • Distinguishprimary colors.
    • Subject to periods of prolonged standing.
    • Perform work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding, including on roofs.
    • Trained in grounding and bonding of medium voltage systems and equipment.
    • Test Procedures and Requirements for AC cable terminations.
    • Working knowledge of computer applications, including Word and Excel and CMMS Programs.
    • A positive, take charge attitude.
    • The ability to work independently or as part of a team.

    Preferred

    • Previous experience working in life sciences environment desired.

    Estimated compensation for this position is:

    $47,300.00 $64,480.00 USD per year

    The pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable. The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicants education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
