    We are seeking a qualified Tax Director to join our team. This position will reside at the corporate office in Irving, Texas and will be reporting to the Sr. Director of Corporate Tax. The Tax Director will be assisting and handling the US federal and State tax compliance and reporting for Heidelberg Materials North America.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS

    • Timely and accurate IFRS analysis and financial statement disclosure related to the income tax provision and deferred taxes (IAS 12/ASC 740) and analysis of uncertain tax positions (IAS 37/FAS 5)
    • Tax provision experience with (ASC 740/FAS 109) is required.
    • Preparation and filing of all federal, state and international income tax returns
    • Assist with the development and implement federal and state tax savings strategies for US group.
    • Process franchise tax compliance including filing all franchise tax returns (over 150 returns for 37 states).
    • Assist team with all federal, state and local income and franchise tax audits, appeals and litigation for the US group.
    • Assist with tax due diligence for US acquisitions, dispositions, and reorganizations.
    • Provide technical assistance and support to field personnel as necessary to help with federal and state franchise and income, sales, use and other types of state and local tax issues.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • B.S. / B.A. in Accounting; CPA is required.
    • Masters in Taxation desirable but not required
    • Must have at least 8 years of work experience in a tax department (public accounting or industry)
    • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to details
    • Requires excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office, SAP experience helpful
