    Responsibilities

    The Charge Nurse is a registered nurse professional who assumes responsibility for the direction and coordination of all day-to-day functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts. In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit. He/she is responsible for the supervision of assigned nursing and unit-based personnel to provide a safe, caring environment for patients, family and staff which fosters professional nursing practice, shared decision making, inter-professional teamwork and collaboration with positive patient and staff outcomes. He/she assists the Nursing Manager/Director in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and monitoring policies and procedures, allocation of resources, quality/performance improvement initiatives, educational programs and shared governance councils to achieve departmental and organizational goals and objectives. Provides direct nursing care as needed.


    Qualifications

    Job Requirements:

    • A graduate of an accredited nursing school.
    • Must possess a current Oklahoma License as a Registered Nurse.Must obtain and maintain a current certification in CPR.
    • Must obtain and maintain ACLS within 6 months of hire.

    Preferred Job Requirements:

    • BSN strongly preferred.
    • Two to five years of clinical experience (preferably in the area of application)
    • Experience in patient care management preferred.
    • Charge nurse experience preferred.
