Job Description Summary:

Maximus is searching for a Senior Network Engineer to join a DoD team in Arlington, VA.
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Arlington, VA. The main focus for the engineer will be to establish policy and architecture for environments that support secure cloud-based solutions.

The Senior Network Engineer will perform network engineering, design, and help formulate policy on a large and complex network with an emphasis on cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities:

Determine network product needs and costs to meet project requirements.
Establish complex routing schema.
Coordinate actions to ensure the implementation of networks that support mission requirements.
Establish networking environment by designing system configuration; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
Maximize network designs by establishing monitoring performance; collaborating with other network architects on network optimization.
Secure network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and establishing access models.
Accomplish information systems and organizational mission by completing related tasks as needed.
Interact with technical leads, developers, and system owners to ensure that all technical requirements are aligned with SAP guidance.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree is required for this position. 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. An Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
Must have an Active TS/SCI clearance.
Minimum seven (7) years of demonstrable DoD experience.
Understanding of DISA STIGs and Benchmarks, as well as DoD JWCC design guidelines and policies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
7 or more years of operational experience working within either AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
7 or more years of experience with Cisco routers, switches, and network technologies.
7 or more years of experience designing and deploying network and firewall infrastructure in cloud environments.
7 or more years of experience with network connectivity to CSPs (Cloud Service Providers).
7 or more years of experience with architecting and deploying with one of the following: AWS (Amazon Web Services), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
7 or more years of experience working with monitoring tools within a cloud environment.
7 or more years of experience with network automation.
Highly proficient in network technologies and expert knowledge level of some of the following: Ethernet, VLANS, Firewalls, Load Balancers (LB); TCP/IP; BGP; MPLS; MIBS; IPSec; VPN; network security; and other Emerging Technologies.


Preferred Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Prior Special Access Program (SAP) experience.
At least one of the following certifications OR 5+ years of Cloud Service Provider experience:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
AWS Certified Solutions DevOps Engineer - Professional
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
AWS Certified Developer Associate

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure (Microsoft)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
Google Certified Professional Cloud Network Engineer
Google Certified Professional Data/DevOps Engineer
Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect
Google Certified Professional Collaboration Engineer

Experience designing and implementing network and cloud-based configurations.
Experience with Ansible and related technologies
Experience with the DoD JWCC environments
